I believe I actually covered most of what I would want to in the vid ! Of course, you can catch bluegill on a variety of lures ... different things will work best in different conditions. Mepps style spinners work well, small crankbaits and "the fly" can be deadly at times. Many live baits will works also ... from worms, mealworms and obviously crickets, but there is one more deadly than all the rest ! A big chunky grasshopper ! (crickets and hoppers are my fave - you just can't beat em - except with a fly some days) You can't buy grasshoppers at the store and have to be quick to catch em ... but nothing beats em. It's like a secret weapon for big BULLgills ! The smaller ones usually leave it alone, nine times out of ten you hook BIG fish. I have even caught them into late October and absolutely slayed the big bluegills. Probably 300 in the day, with one going over a pound and a half ! And man they fight hard ... pound for pound, one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish out there.
